A little bit about me.
Founder | Educator | Speaker | Healer
My journey into the healing arts began in 1978, when my mother’s breast cancer diagnosis changed the course of my life. Her choice to follow a natural treatment plan led to a remarkable recovery and inspired my lifelong mission to help others restore and maintain health through holistic, natural methods.
For over 30 years, I’ve been a passionate teacher and practitioner of Functional Nutrition and Traditional Chinese Healing Arts. As a speaker and educator, I blend classical Chinese herbology, nutrition, medicine-making, and lifestyle practices to guide individuals and communities toward vibrant, balanced living.
I am the founder and lead instructor at the New York Institute of Herbal Medicine & Nutrition, a one-of-a-kind, year-long professional certification program that integrates Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition, Tai Qi, and the art of healing with food.
In addition to my private practice, I’ve taught at respected institutions such as the University of Bridgeport Acupuncture Institute (as an adjunct associate professor and Curriculum Committee member), Norwalk Community College, and the New York Open Center. My teachings have also reached audiences at NYU, Mount Sinai Hospital, and New York Medical College.
Media appearances include Good Day New York, Fox News Channel, The Exchange, and Alive & Wellness with Carol Martin. I’ve also spoken at organizations like Gilda’s Club and Ronald McDonald House, sharing natural approaches to health and healing.
Corporate wellness partnerships have brought my work to companies including American Express, SONY, Showtime, Viacom, and Brooks Brothers—designing holistic programs to enhance workplace well-being.
As a Green Energy Consultant, I also help individuals and businesses transition to sustainable energy solutions, supporting both personal wellness and planetary health. I believe healing ourselves and healing the planet go hand in hand.
To your health,
Drew, Max, and Ruby
