Inflammation: The Slient Killer

What do obesity, heart disease, cancer, and asthma have in common? Inflammation is a link to these and a host of other chronic illnesses. When we think of Inflammation, most of us think of a bump or a bruise, not a chronic illness like asthma or obesity. In-flammation is a transitory response in the body; when that response becomes chronic, the body begins to attack itself – leading to many illnesses, including heart disease and cancer. Drew DiVittorio, a nutritional consultant and health coach trained in Oriental Medicine and Nutrition, and board certified in Traditional Chinese Herbology, brings a wealth of experience and insight to this class which will look at the theory behind In-flammation and how chronic inflammation impacts your health. There will be coverage of the many natural ways to reduce and treat inflammation with a focus on anti-inflammatory diets, herbs, foods, supplements and exercises that reduce inflammation.
